TBAA is dedicated to improving the Tampa Bay’s local aviation sector as well as giving back to our communities. As the 2017 year comes to an end, Tampa Bay Aviation Association would like to reflect on some accomplishments made throughout the years.
Being on any Board of Directors is not always easy as it requires time and commitment. I am pleased to announce we have a full team! These folks have a desire to take the TBAA in to its next seven years!
Jeff Gillquist, Treasurer
I am pleased to announce Marilyn Gauthier, C.M. / Tampa International Airport / General Aviation Manager has accepted the torch as our Vice Chair. Marilyn has been a member of our aviation community for over 20 years and I am pleased to have her on our team.
Our Safety Day was held on September 28 at Tampa International Airport. This event provides the community to come together and learn about different trends and or concerns in the industry.
Topics in this year event included FBO ground safety presented by Signature Flight Support, Drone safety with Mr. Michael Cummings from American Infrastructure Development, Inc, ADS-B and flight data solutions with Lisa Sanford, Manager, Flight Data Services, Avionica Inc..
Our keynote speaker was Andrew Lourake Lt. Col USAF (RET). Andrew spoke about his time in the United States Air Force. Andrew shared with us the challenges he faced to become the first pilot to successfully return to flight duty after undergoing a leg amputation. Andrew continues to give back and has helped 9 other amputees' worldwide return to the flight deck.
Have a great holiday

TBAA Holiday Party
This year’s holiday party will be once again held at Cooper’s Hawk Restaurant and Winery on West Boy Scout Boulevard in Tampa. The event will be December 7th from 6:00 – 9:00PM, in the Large Private Party Room. TBAA members and guests are encouraged to bring their spouse, a friend or a coworker. Drinks and hors d’oeurve will be served. Please RSVP
The TBAA has selected the Ronald McDonald House Charites Tampa Bay to be the charity of choice for 2017.
Ronald Mc Donald Houses allow families to call home so they can stay close by their seriously ill hospitalized child at little to no cost. Ronald Mc Donald Houses are built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of their child.
Instead of toys we are asking our attendees to bring large children picture books and gift cards (Wal-Mart, Target iTunes, Publix, Etc…) for donation to the families of Ronald McDonald House Charites Tampa Bay.
We hope to see you there!
Steven E. Santamaria, C.M., ACE
